MATTLY FINANCE / FAQS

Useful answers.
Before we get started.

Practical questions about services, remote working, records, fees and the enquiry process.

Who does MATTLY help?

Small and owner-managed businesses in different industries that need remote bookkeeping and practical finance support. Suitability depends on the systems, records and work required; MATTLY is not hospitality-specific.

Can we work together remotely?

Yes. Agree document sharing, authorised access where needed and a clear communication routine. The required systems and sharing arrangements are confirmed for the engagement.

Can I request only one area of support?

Yes. An enquiry can focus on one priority, such as reconciliations, outstanding balances, reporting or catch-up records. Confirm the specific tasks and outputs rather than assuming every service is included.

What if my records are behind?

Identify the periods involved, available documents and last reliable balances first. Catch-up work can then be assessed and scoped, with missing information and unresolved opening balances kept visible.

How are fees determined?

Fees depend on the volume, complexity, condition of the records and support required. The work, fees and timeframes are confirmed before work begins. Additional periods or requirements may need a revised scope.

How quickly can work be completed?

A timeframe is agreed after understanding the work and information available. Missing documents, unclear balances or delayed responses can affect completion. Mention important deadlines in your initial enquiry; no fixed turnaround is promised on this website.

What documents do I need to provide?

The checklist depends on the service. Bank statements, invoices, receipts, customer or supplier records, accounting balances and authorised budgets may be relevant. Agree the checklist and a suitable channel before sharing records.

Which accounting software do you support?

Tell Edward which systems you use. Suitability, access permissions and the practical working arrangement must be confirmed before the engagement is agreed. The website does not claim certification or support for every accounting product.

Do I need to share my banking password?

Do not provide banking passwords, login credentials or other secrets through the public enquiry. Agree appropriate system access separately. You retain financial authorisation and approval responsibilities.

Will MATTLY make payments or business decisions for me?

The advertised support does not transfer decision-making or payment authority. You approve payments and business decisions. Any administration or external communication must be explicitly included in the agreed scope.

Are tax, audit or statutory services included?

No. The advertised services are bookkeeping and practical finance support. Audit, assurance and regulated tax services are outside this scope. Raise statutory requirements before agreeing the work so responsibilities and any separate professional support are clear.

Are payroll or forecasting automatically included?

No. Do not assume these are included in reporting or general finance support. Describe your requirement; availability, suitability and any separate scope must be confirmed before it is advertised or agreed.

Is a management report an audited financial statement?

No. Management reporting is prepared for internal business use from the agreed records and assumptions. It does not provide an audit or assurance opinion.

What happens to my website enquiry?

The form prepares a brief in your browser. Previewing it does not send a message to MATTLY. Opening WhatsApp passes the brief to WhatsApp; you still choose Send to deliver it. You can also contact Edward by phone or email. See the privacy notice for details.

Can I upload accounting records through the website?

No. The public enquiry is for a brief initial conversation. Do not submit sensitive records or credentials there. Agree a suitable sharing channel and access arrangements separately.

Does an enquiry commit me to a service?

No. Work starts only under an agreed engagement. Scope, responsibilities, fees and timeframes must be confirmed beforehand.
